New to Bitcoin? Confused? Need help? You've come to the right place.
Bitcoin is an internet based decentralised currency. Similarly to Bittorrent, but Bitcoin uses a public ledger called the blockchain to record who has sent and received money. It's very new, and for many very confusing. BitcoinHelp aims to rectify this. Whether it be explaining how it works, how to use it, how to buy Bitcoins, how to integrate Bitcoins into your business. Sharing your successes as well as failures in order to help others is also gladly received. Ask away!
I had $240 of bitcoin sent to my electrum wallet and I let it sit for 2 days. I just got back on today and see that all the coin has been sent to a wallet I don't have any access to. I know for a fact I didn't sent this money. I don't have multi-factor authentication on. Could I possibly have some kind of virus that's sending my bitcoin to someones wallet automatically? I've never had this happen before and I've been using electrum for about a year now, granted this was the first time I had bitcoin sent to me from someone other than myself, but would that really matter. How should I go about fixing this without setting my computer back to factory settings? Am I able to just make a new eletrum and all is good?

TL:DR Maybe an Electrum virus preventing me fr retrieving my Bitcoin! I had my Jaxx s/w screw up somehow & I didn't keep my backup phrase so now 2 ETH are apparently lost forever! Because of this, I asked you guys if I was better off letting Coinbase keep my coins instead of me & got resounding answers of NO! So, I was going to DL my Bitcoin from Coinbase to my Electrum wallet, but I thought I would make sure that the Electrum 3.03 would probably work when I did want my coins. Therefore, I decided to send a test of my Bitcoin (438 mBTC) TO Coinbase, & when I was sure that was ok, I would then send ALL of my Bitcoins FROM Coinbase to Electrum Well, looks like it was a good idea because when I try to send it, after clicking "broadcast" I get: "Required Security Update (v4.0.0)" & the warning tells me I have to dl: electrumversion.com/electrum-4.0.0.exe I did dl it, & my security s/w warned me NOT to open the file! The Electrum website says their version of Electrum is not 4.0, but 3.3.6.exe and now THAT gets quarantined on my computer, as well! I could take losing 2 ETH @ $133 ea, but this is just too effing much! I should add that I got disgusted & moved all of my Lite coin from Electrum-LTC to Coinbase & that went fine, so I do know how to do it - I just can't avoid what I believe might be a phishing thing Secondarily, since I no longer have any faith in Electrum or Jaxx, any suggestions on a hard wallet?

Help in verifying my Ledger Nano S transactions with a Bitcoin Full node and Electrum server
From past suggestion I understand I can verify my hardware wallet transactions with the help of Electrum Server. I synced a full bitcoin node with txindex=1 but can not get Electrum app to connect to the local server. I have followed this tutorial online: https://freedomnode.com/blog/69/how-to-install-an-electrum-server-using-full-bitcoin-node-and-electrumx but the link to documentation for electrumx.conf does not work and can not find it.
